After Missile Attack, Trump imposes new sanctions on Iran
Tehran: The regime of US President Donald Trump has imposed new sanctions on Iran targeting the country’s metals sector and several senior government officials in violation of international laws and the UN Charter, days after the Islamic Republic exercised its right of retaliation as per Article 51 of the UN Charter for the unpardonable US act of terrorism in the targeted killing of Lt-Gen. Qassem Soleimani by striking the Ain al-Assad US military base with a barrage of missiles.
According to the reports, the new measures were announced at a press conference at the White House on Friday by two of the most anti-Iranian figures of the criminal clique of Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced
The new set of sanctions target the Iranian construction, manufacturing, textiles, mining, aluminum, copper, iron and steel industries, as part of futile American efforts to squeeze Iran’s exports and revenues.
Washington also imposed bans on eight senior Iranian officials, largely as propaganda measures, since none of these Iranian officials visit the US.
The Trump regime’s latest accusations against Iran come after the US military launched a terrorist strike on Iran’s most prominent anti-terror commander in Iraq on January 3, an unpardonable crime that has been condemned worldwide and led to several days of huge rallies in Iran and Iraq, whose own anti-terror commander, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis was the victim, along with Iran’s General Soleimani.
