Nagpur: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait has said that farmers are prepared to protest against Centre’s new farm laws “till May 2024”, terms ongoing agitation by peasants at Delhi borders an “ideological revolution”.

Talking to Media in Nagpur, Rakesh Tikait Said, “The government will have to abolish these three laws. The movement will continue. About 10 rounds of talks have taken place in the movement, the government is completely obstinate.”

The next round of talks between farmer leaders and government will be held January 19.Ahead of the talks, farmer unions again pressed their demand.

On the other hand, National Investigation Agency NIA has served notice to some people, who are actively participating in Farmers Protest. Krantikari Kisan Union chief Darshan Pal said, “NIA has started to register cases against those who are a part of the farmers’ movement or those who have lent their support to it. All farmers’ unions condemn this. We will fight this in every possible way.”

Farmer unions have also asked permission to oraganise Tractor Parade on 26 January in Delhi. Bhartiya Kisan Union Lokshakti has written to the Delhi Police Commissioner seeking permission to hold the farmers’ agitation at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi.
