BJP leader sends Divorce notice to his wife because she joins TMC

Kolkata: BJP Leader Saumitra Khan has sent a legal divorce notice to wife Sujata Mondal Khan. Sujata joined Mamta Banerjee’s Party All India Trinamool Congess Yesterday.

Reacting on her wife’s decision of joining Trinamool Congress, BJP Leader Saumitra Khan said, “I would request her to stop using the surname ‘Khan’. I am severing all relations with Sujata today. I am sending her a divorce notice. I also request the media to not label her as a ‘Khan’.”

After receiving divorce notice from her husband, Sujata Mondal has also revert back. She said, “When politics enter your personal lives, it becomes bad for the relationship. Saumitra is in the company of bad people from BJP who are trying to instigate him against me. The party that abolished triple talaq is asking Saumitra to divorce me today.”

On Monday, Sujata Mondal Khan had switched over to the TMC from the BJP, claiming that she did not get her due recognition even after taking several risks to get her husband elected from Bishnupur during 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing the press, she said “misfit and corrupt leaders” are getting more importance in the BJP than the loyal ones.

“Despite enduring physical attacks, sacrificing so much to get my husband elected to Parliament, I got nothing in return…I want to work under our beloved leader Mamata Banerjee and our dada Abhishek Banerjee,” she said, after joining the TMC.
