Big Twist in Shaheen Bagh shooter tale, AAP will file complaint against BJP
NEW DELHI: Hours after stating to court that Kapil Gurjar, the man who opened fire at the Shaheen Bagh protest last week, had deleted his WhatsApp account, the Delhi Police came up with the revelation that the shooter was a member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Deputy commissioner of police (Crime Branch) Rajesh Deo claimed to have come to this discovery when photos were retrieved from Kapil Gurjar’s WhatsApp account. These photos, he claimed, showed the shooter and his father joining the AAP on his mobile phone in early 2019. These photos were quickly released to the public.
BJP leaders quickly launched into ‘ha, ha’ press conferences to put the squeeze on the AAP. The party’s new president J P Nada let loose a series of tweets in which he said the Delhi Police ‘revelation’ exposed the “dirty face” of the AAP and its boss Arvind Kejriwal.
Union Minister Prakash Jawdekar also attacked on AAP, He said “It is not a casual photo. He (Kapil Gujjar) was joining Aam Aadmi Party and Sanjay Singh welcomed him. This shows how AAP instigates the youth and misuses them. Hence, AAP stands exposed before people of Delhi.”
Replying to BJP’s claim, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh said “Amit Shah is the Home Minister of the country at this time, now just before elections, photos & conspiracies will be found. 3-4 days are left for the elections, BJP will do as much dirty politics as they can. What does having a picture with someone means?”
He said,”MCC is in place & DCP Crime Branch Rajesh Deo is saying photos of AAP members have been found & we are investigating how many people are involved in the conspiracy. Is Amit Shah telling Rajesh Deo to say these things? On whose instructions he dared to do this?”
Sanjay Singh said,”Investigation has not been completed, photos have not been investigated and a police officer is taking a party’s name, at a time when the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is in place. Tomorrow we will complain to Election Commission (EC) against Rajesh Deo.”
