Woman cops took off my burqa and hit on private parts with lathi, says Jamia student

New Delhi: It was another bad day for Jamia Students, When they started their Parliament march on Monday.  The Peaceful march from Jamia Milia Islamia were stopped by Delhi Police while carrying an anti-CAA march towards Parliament.

The protesters, including Jamia students and alumni, were led by the Jamia Coordination Committee (JCC). They were marching towards Parliament to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

Heavy security was deployed  around the Jamia campus. The Protest was soon stopped as soon as it was started from Jamia Millia Islamia and stopped near the Holy Family Hospital in Okhla.

Police said the protesters did not have permission to march towards Parliament. There was heavy deployment of security personnel, many donning riot gear, in and around the university.

The protesters began their march from Jamia’s gate no. 7. The police appealed to them to end their march. After that Police used Lathi Charge.

Some Students are injured in Police Lathi Charge. Where as some Girls student claim that Delhi Police cops hit on their private parts. A Girl Student of Jamia Millia Islamia said that “When I was standing near the barricades, one cop hit my private part with his knee. I fainted on the spot. I can’t remember what happened after that.”

“It has been two months since we are protesting. No one from the government has come to talk to us, so we want to go to talk to them,” said Zeba Anhad, a burqa-clad protester.

According to India Today, More than 10 students of Jamia Millia University, who participated in an anti-CAA march towards Parliament, have been admitted to the Jamia Health Centre for injuries in their private parts.
