MSO pledges not to shop on Eid, Appeal to stay at homes to avoid corona virus
New Delhi: In the wake of the Corona epidemic this year, everyone should avoid overcrowding on Eid. For this, the Muslim community should avoid the temptation of shopping and must celebrate Eid with simplicity. This was stated in a press release issued by the MSO, the largest organization of Muslim students in India.
In a press release issued by the National President of the Muslim Students Organization of India, Shujaat Ali Qadri said that corona is not a simple disease. It is a dangerous epidemic of contagion. Therefore, this time on Eid, Muslims should absolutely avoid going to the market for shopping. This will give them three benefits. He will be able to protect himself and his family from the corona epidemic infection. Along with this, in this hour of economic crisis, you will avoid spending the necessary savings for your family. It will also be a contribution to the country. Qadri said that in Islam, there is a special emphasis on wearing clean clothes instead of new clothes on Eid. If Eid is celebrated with simplicity, it will be in line with Islamic tradition.
Qadri reminded that whenever there is a crisis on the country, Muslims have helped in the progress of the country by saving expenditure. He reminded that during the war with China in 1962 and during the war with Pakistan in 1965, 1971 and 1975, the Muslims did not put any economic burden on the country by avoiding unnecessary expenditure while showing great patience for Eid. Not only this, when the then Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri ji had once called for saving food, the Muslims of India did not make unnecessary purchases on Eid. This was an unusual introduction to his national duty and patriotism.
Shujaat Qadri said that carrying on this tradition, while there is such a terrible outbreak of the corona epidemic in the country, the great cooperation at this time is that we follow the physical distance from each other. In this situation, in the name of shopping in the market, this distance from unnecessary crowds will be reduced and the virus will spread. This will be a situation which puts the country in danger. Therefore, just as the Muslims of India had introduced the country to support the country by celebrating Eid simplicity in 1962, 1965, 1971 and 1975, this situation should be repeated in the year 2020 also. He reminded that when the prayers of Taraweeh and Jumah are not being recited in mosques in Ramadan, the commitment to defeat Corona from the unnecessary crowds in the market will be adversely affected. Therefore, we should help the country stay safe at home by fighting the corona virus, while avoiding shopping.
The Muslim Students Organization of India has directed all its state units to convince the Muslims, especially the youth at the local level that they should cooperate with the administration, health department, police and the government in dealing with the Corona crisis by celebrating Eid simplicity. This time avoid any kind of Eid shopping.
