Delhi Police to take action against rumour mongers, two held for spreading rumours
New Delhi: Few days after Delhi communal violence, On Sunday Delhi Police received several calls on the basis of rumours.
Delhi Police have arrested two suspects for spreading rumors. According to Delhi Police PRO MS Randhawa, ‘Some people have been detained for rumour-mongering and cases are being registered against them. Strict action will be taken against those who spread rumours & hate speech’.
He said ‘We’ve received some panic calls from West Delhi, South East Delhi, Madanpur Khadar, Rajouri Garden, Hari Nagar,& Khayala, please don’t entertain them. Situation is normal at these places.Police are monitoring social media&will take action against rumour mongers’.
According to Delhi Police, ‘It has been observed that some anti-social elements are spreading rumours to disturb peace. People are advised to neither spread nor trust the rumours. Law & order situation of the whole city is under control’.
