Congress to contest on 92 Assembly Seats in West Bengal
Kolkata: Congress and left parties alliance have finalised the seat distribution for West Bengal Assembly Election. According to West Bengal Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Congress will contest on 92 Assembly seats.
In a Press Conference, State Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, “As per discussions held with left so far, 92 seats have been finalised for Congress to contest the upcoming West Bengal Assembly election. The list of candidates for these seats will be announced in two days.”
Chowdhury also said, “We demanded 130 seats in the beginning, left front might have accommodated us with more seats but we had to keep the gap for other parties such as RJD & NCP. Now we don’t have to share seats with RJD & NCP but our offer is open for others.”
Left Front Chairman Biman Bose was also addressed the press conference. He said, “After today’s discussions with Congress, we felt that there won’t be any problem now. We want to proceed further with the alliance.”
Samajwadi Party and RJD to support Mamata Banerjee:
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav met West Bengal CM and TMC leader Mamata Banerjee on Monday. After this meeting, Tejaswi Yadav said, “It is Lalu Ji’s decision to provide full support to Mamata Ji. Our first priority is to stop BJP from coming to power in Bengal.”
West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamta Banerjee said, “The biggest thing is support to courage, Tejashwi bhai is fighting, so we are fighting and vice versa.”
Samajwadi Party President, Akhilesh Yadav has also expresses his party’s full support to Mamta Banerjee in Assembly Election. Talking to Media in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav said, Samajwadi Party will not contest in West Bengal Assembly Election, Whereas Our Party will support Trinamool Congress.
