Not to inject disinfectants as possible treatment for COVID-19: Lysol & Dettol

New Delhi:The maker of disinfectants Lysol & Dettol has issued a press release telling people not to inject themselves with disinfectant after President Donald Trump suggested disinfectants and light could be injected into the human body to kill the coronavirus.

Earlier US President Donald Trump has stunned viewers by suggesting that people could receive injections of disinfectant to cure the coronavirus

Trump’s coronavirus disinfectant comments are ‘dangerous’, doctors say, after the U.S. president said during a White House briefing that scientists should try to apply their findings to patients by inserting ultraviolet light or disinfectant.

Lysol spokesman said,’Under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body through injection, ingestion or any other route.’

Lysol parent company Reckitt Benckiser said on proper usage of disinfecting products, ‘We must be clear that under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body through injection, ingestion or any other route.’

Now White house has issues an statement to defend President Trump’s comments about the possibility of using disinfectants to tackle Covid-19.

Now White House Press Secretary said, ‘President Trump has repeatedly said that Americans should consult with medical doctors regarding coronavirus treatment, a point that he emphasized again during yesterday’s briefing.’
